Jarvis Lee Welch

Jarvis Lee Welch, 87, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 at his residence in Gastonia.

He was born on January 8, 1939, to the late James and Miley Welch. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Jill Welch; his 12 siblings; and Sarah Welch.

Jarvis proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and his military ways carried over throughout the rest of his life, he was very routine and always early and never late. He was strong willed and would do anything for his family, who he loved more than anything else. The memories Jarvis leaves behind will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Willis (Jack); grandchildren, Cammie Willis (Sky), Jackie Branch (Scott), Jack Allen (Shanna), Deanna Self, and Wendy Self; great-grandchildren, Tucker Branch, Hunner Donaldson, Bella Taylor, and Jack Allen Willis III; niece, Tonya Faulkner; and many more nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am at Westview Gardens, 1123 Edgewood Road, Bessemer City, North Carolina, with Pastor Leo Kuykendall officiating.
