Dallas – Jean Dewey "JD" Hensley, 87 passed away suddenly on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Rutherfordton County on September 25, 1933 to the late Hiram and Elizabeth Silvers Hensley. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lois Hughes Hensley; his son Ronnie Hensley; brothers, Rotha Hensley, Grady Hensley, Monroe Hensley, Creed Hensley and Shelby Hensley; sisters, Blanche Starnes, Aileen Goins, Marie Briscoe and Locke Scruggs and special friend and companion Mary McGinnis.
JD was a proud US Army veteran serving as a Corporal in the Korean Conflict.
He retired from Grindstaff Floor Covering after many years.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving family, Lisa and Scott Stiles, Ricky Hensley, Jimmy and Candace McGinnis and their daughter Taylor
and Eric Hensley.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Interment will be in Rutherfordton on his family plot.
