Jenny Stepp Rose

Gastonia – Jenny Stepp Rose, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at her residence.  

Jenny was born in Gaston County on February 9, 1929 to the late Oscar Reid Bell and Clara Miller Bell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, John P. Stepp, and her second husband, Bill Rose; her brother,” Jody” Gary Bell.

Jenny was a member of First Baptist Church in Gastonia and was a dedicated homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a wonderful friend. She leaves many happy memories that will be cherished by her family and all who loved her.

She is survived by her son, John Jeffery Stepp and his wife, Teddi Beam Stepp; daughters, Vickie Schlagenhauf and her husband, Johnny, and Jerri S. Tatham and her husband, Chuck Tatham; grandchildren, Jenna and Charlie Smith, Gregory Scott Thomas, Kelley and Chris Smith, Jody and Christy Tatham, Emily and Patrick Bauer, and Elizabeth Stepp and husband Linnie Vargas; great-grandchildren, Matthew Thomas, Courtney and Stephen Vernon, and Isabella Smith; and her great-great grandchildren, Adalynn and Braylon Thomas, Raelynn Vernon, Hogan and Charlotte Bauer; brother, Bud Bell, and a sister Shirley Williamson and husband Joe.

The family will receive guest at her residence from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
