Jerry Keith Barnhill, beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2023, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, North Carolina. He was born on January 10, 1942, to his loving parents Robert Joseph Barnhill and Arlene Tscheiller Barnhill. Jerry's departure leaves a void in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Throughout his life, Jerry dedicated himself to his work. He was a skilled professional in the heating and air industry and took great pride in his craft. Jerry also found joy in working at Sam's Club, where he made countless friendships that enriched his life.
Jerry's warm personality and genuine interest in others made him an instant friend to all who crossed his path. With an easy-going nature and a kind heart, he had an uncanny ability to make people feel comfortable in his presence. Jerry's contagious laughter and infectious smile were capable of brightening even the darkest days.
In addition to his successful career and warm-hearted nature, Jerry placed great importance on family. He cherished the time spent with his daughter Ginger Barnhill from Valleyhead, Alabama. Their bond was unbreakable as they shared memorable moments filled with love and laughter throughout the years. His life partner, Sheila Holland and her three children and spouses, her nine grandchildren and their spouses, and seven great grandchildren.
Jerry also shared a special connection with his brother Roger "Buddy" Barnhill and Buddy's wife Linda. Their unwavering support and companionship provided a sense of comfort during both joyful celebrations and challenging times. The bond between these brothers exemplified the deep love they held for one another.
The joy of Jerry's life extended to the arrival of his beloved grandson Jacob Watters. Nothing brought him more happiness than watching Jacob grow and thrive. Their time together was characterized by unconditional love and indescribable pride.
Jerry Barnhill will forever be remembered for his warm spirit, caring nature, and selfless dedication to those he loved. His impact on the lives of his family and friends will continue to be felt as they carry his memory in their hearts.
In addition to his parents, Robert Joseph Barnhill and Arlene Tscheiller Barnhill, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Foster, and brothers, Bob and Mike Barnhill.
Though his physical presence may have left this world, Jerry's spirit will remain an eternal source of inspiration and strength for all those whose lives he touched. May we find solace in the fond memories shared with our beloved Jerry and may his soul rest peacefully.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27th,2023 at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Time section, Gastonia, North Carolina
