Jimmy Michael Queen

Gastonia-James Michael “Jimmy” Queen, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his residence with his loving family by his side.  He was born in Gaston County, on October 7, 1950 to the late James Henderson Queen and Laura Faye Henderson queen. He was also preceded in death by his nieces, Regina Hoffman Ramsey and Lisa Hoffman Bennett; great niece, Heather Nicole Ramsey, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Carol Garrison and their son, Little David Garrison.

Jimmy retired from the City of Gastonia with over 35 years of dedicated service.

He was an avid fisherman and bowler. He loved the Carolina Tar Heels and Atlanta Braves. Jimmy was a happy go lucky person, he loved people.

He was a loving and devoted husband to Patsy; she was his world.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years of being together, the love of his life, Patsy Kiser Queen; his sister, Frances Queen Hoffman; sister-in-law, Sandy Neal;  and many wonderful nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Monday November 14, 2022 prior to the 10:00 Chapel service at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Junior Morris officiating.  

Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Time, 1200 South New Hope Road Gastonia NC, 28054

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
