Jo Ann Spencer Trull

Jo Ann Spencer Trull, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving daughter by her side. Jo Ann was born in Gastonia on February 14, 1934 and is the daughter of the late Albertus Alexander Spencer and Marzella Cabe Spencer. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Carrol Trull.
Jo Ann grew up on the Firestone Mill Village and was voted "Little Miss Firestone" in 1934. Jo Ann was a graduate of Gastonia High School and Gaston College, where she was selected as the Outstanding Student in Academic Achievement in Business Administration. She retired from FMC Lithium Corporation after many years of service. After retiring, she worked in Administration at Woodhill Elementary School. She is a member of MetroLina Library Association, Western Carolina Library Association and National Library Association. She was a faithful volunteer at East Gaston Adult Day Care. She is a faithful member of Flint Groves Baptist Church.
Jo Ann is survived by her beloved daughter, Amy Jo Trull Bridges and fiancé Reggie Alexander; and devoted son, Edgar E. "Rusty" Wright III, daughter-in-law Virginia "Ginny" Wright; two grandchildren she adored, grandson,Edgar E. "Evan" Wright IV, and granddaughter Elizabeth E. "Libby" Wright; special nephew, Kevin Smith; and her many loving neighbors and friends including the Nguyens, The Reids, The Griggs, The Morgans and Tammy Lattimore
The family will receive family and friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Flint Groves Baptist Church, 2017 East Ozark Avenue, Gastonia, North Carolina.
A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Flint Groves Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Bowers officiating.
Inurnment will be private.
