Joan Medley Creasman

Joan Medley Creasman, 68, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at her home in Gastonia, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Gaston County on August 9, 1957, Joan was the daughter of the late Arden and Mae Medley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Glenn Medley.

Joan was a vibrant, free-spirited soul who truly embraced life as an adventure. She found joy in the everyday moments and had a remarkable way of turning even the simplest occasions into something special. Whether she was dancing, laughing, or spending time with those she loved, Joan lived fully and loved deeply. Her warm heart, infectious energy, and genuine kindness meant that she never met a stranger—only friends she hadn’t yet gotten to know.

She was selfless in her love for others, always putting family and friends before herself. Joan was a devoted wife, a proud and loving mother, and a deeply cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness that will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, John Lee Creasman; her children, John Matthew Creasman and Jordan O’Toole (Eric); her grandchildren, Blake Creasman, Maddie Creasman, Lucas Creasman, Blaire Creasman, Mackenzie Hogsed, Grayson O’Toole, Connor O’Toole, and Caroline O’Toole; and four great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Gaston Memorial Park in the Mausoleum of Peace, with Pastor Junior Morris officiating.

Pallbearers will be Joe Austin, Keith Lynn, Eric O’Toole, Grayson O’Toole, Blake Creasman, and Connor O’Toole.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to End Alz Association and Hope for a Cure.
