JoAnn Hines Lemmons, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, has passed away at the age of 85. She was born on April 11, 1938, in York, South Carolina to Paul Hines and Ruby Lanning Hines. JoAnn will be remembered for her loving nature and the joy she brought to those around her.

Throughout her life, JoAnn found fulfillment in being a homemaker. Her passion for creating a warm and inviting home led her to develop various talents. She excelled in gardening, infusing vibrant life into her surroundings. Her green thumb allowed her garden to flourish with colors and fragrances that brought serenity to all who visited.

In addition to her gardening prowess, JoAnn possessed skilled hands that crafted beautiful garments. Sewing became more than just a hobby; it became a form of art as she meticulously stitched together fabrics and patterns that reflected her creativity and attention to detail.

Cooking was another avenue through which JoAnn expressed her love for others. Her kitchen was always filled with mouthwatering aromas as she prepared savory dishes with love. Whether it was a family gathering or a simple weeknight meal, JoAnn's culinary creations brought warmth and happiness to those fortunate enough to share in her meals.

JoAnn also had an eye for décor and design. Her innate ability to transform spaces into inviting sanctuaries made every house feel like a home. With an eye for detail and an impeccable sense of style, she knew how to bring even the simplest elements together in harmony.

Surrounded by loved ones, JoAnn peacefully passed away on September 10, 2023, at Gastonia Health and Rehab in Gastonia, North Carolina. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew her.

JoAnn's family and friends will come together to honor her memory at a graveside service on September 14, 2023. The service will be held at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery located at 251 Olney Church Rd in Gastonia, North Carolina. Commencing at 11:00 AM with Pastor Phil Lemmons officiating., this solemn occasion will provide an opportunity for all those who loved JoAnn to pay their final respects.

JoAnn Hines Lemmons leaves behind a cherished family who will forever hold her in their hearts. She was the beloved wife of Gordon C. Lemmons for 69 years and the loving mother of Barbara Walker and husband Howard. Her granddaughters, Kelly Lawniczak and husband Ben, and Holly Walker were the lights of her life. Her great-grandchildren Kathryn, Asa, and Jesse brought her immense joy and filled her days with cherished memories.

In addition to her immediate family, JoAnn is survived by her brother Billy Hines and wife Betty, sisters, Betty Carroll, and  Geraldine Franklin as well as several nieces and nephews who looked up to their aunt with admiration.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving son Ricky Lemmons, great grandson Benjamin, brothers Paul, Clyde, and Bobby Hines, sisters Nellie Hines, and Alice Williams. Although they have now reunited in the heavenly realm, their absence will be deeply felt by those left behind.

Throughout her life, JoAnn's proudest accomplishments were centered around her family. She dedicated herself to nurturing strong bonds with each member of her kin. The love she poured into their lives created a tapestry of cherished moments that will endure through generations.

In celebrating JoAnn's life, let us remember the way she touched our souls with her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration as we navigate the days ahead.
