John Paul Jarrett

Dallas – John Paul Jarrett, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side. 

He was born in Dallas, on April 8, 1938 to the late John S Jarett and Grace Wright Jarrett.

John was a member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir for many years. He loved pyramid history, and enjoyed feeding his birds. John retired from General Tire with over 30 years of service.

John is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Janice Shives Jarrett; his children, Wesley (Paula) Jarrett of Dallas, Tony (Kay) Jarrett of Gastonia, Barry Jarrett of Dallas; grandchildren, Joshua and Whitney Jarrett, Jessica (Michael) Hutchins; sisters, Deanne Stokley, Sherry (Fairley) Threatt.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 27 at Philadelphia Lutheran Church with Reverend Shea Berbaum officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service

Interment will be in the church cemetery
