Dallas – Josephine Ann "JoAnn" Rudisill Lewis, 89, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022, at residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Gaston County on September 4, 1932, to the late Charlie Able Rudisill and Mae Hoyle Rudisill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Alvin Lewis, who passed in 1994; her sisters, Helen R. Withers and Sara R. Michael, sons-in-law, Bob Schafer and Mike Ledford.
JoAnn was a member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church. She retired from Carr Elementary School after many dedicated years. She was a loving, kind, and beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
Survivors include her wonderful and loving family, her children, Mike and wife Amy Lewis, Lesa Lewis Schafer, Ann Lewis Ledford and Lynn and husband Chris Glover; her grandchildren, Adam Lewis, Laura Lewis, Jolee Lewis Lawson, Kelly Schafer Hepler, Robert "Robbie" Schafer, Taylor Arthur, and McKenzie Glover; great-grandchildren, Schae and Presley Hepler, Ada Schafer, Dalton and Tenley Lawson, Cooper Greene; and her sister, Mary Charles Brown.
A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Philadelphia Lutheran Church Cemetery with Reverend Shea Berbaum officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Philadelphia Lutheran Church, 1910 Philadelphia Church Road, Dallas, North Carolina 28034.
