Joynette James Robinson

Joynette James Robinson, 92, of Belmont, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, with her loving family by her side. She was born August 3, 1934, to the late William “Bill” and Annie James.

Joy was a devoted member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Comforter in Belmont. She was a die-hard Tar Heel and Cowboys fan. Joy also loved all things Christmas and red. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife of her husband of 73 years, Don Robinson. She was a great mom who loved her family, especially her granddaughters. Joy and Don would go on many beach trips over the years and the Outer Banks was a special place for them to visit lighthouses. The memories Joy leaves behind will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Don Preston Robinson; children, Terri Walter (Eric) and Mike Robinson (Trina); sister, Billie Ann Shaver; granddaughters, Holly Robinson and Anna Robinson (Keegan Graham); her best friends and neighbors, Judy McClure and Cindy Davis; and her precious dog, Shadow.

A graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery, 607 McKnight Street, Belmont, with Pastor Micah Kearney officiating.

Pallbearers will be, Randy Silvers, Danny Norris, Charles Mauney, Mark Yount, Keegan Graham, and Eric Walter.
