Belmont - Judith Winterson Bain, 76, went home to be with her Lord on April 19th at the Robin Johnson Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gaston County on August 27, 1944, to the late William Gassaway Winterson and Catherine Ball Winterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Garry Charles "Pete" Bain, and a sister, Loretta Rogers.
Judith was a member of Queen of the Apostles. She retired from Crompton & Knowles as an Office Manager with over 42 years of dedicated service. She loved cooking and baking and enjoyed trips to the beach and fishing. Most of all, she enjoyed her only granddaughter Nola and her beloved dog Chipper.
She is survived by her wonderful children, Mike Bain, Lee Bain, A.J. Bain, Jen and husband Shane Walts and Joe Bain; 1 beautiful granddaughter, Nola Ann Bain whom she was very proud of; sisters, Catherine Landry and husband Richard, and JoAnn Rankin; sisters-in-law, Kitty Rust and Martha Stowe; and too many friends to name.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon, Thursday, April 22nd at South Point United Methodist Church, 510 South Point Church Road, Belmont, NC 28012 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Tony Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" Cemetery in Belmont, NC.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Sauceda, Steven Rogers, Jeff Landry, Greg Davis, Tony Bollinger, and Corky Falls. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Rankin and Roy Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robin Johnson House, c/o Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
Due to the Covid Pandemic, Masks and Social Distancing Is Required.
