Judy Walker Chastain

Judy Walker Chastain, 78, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 18, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.

Judy was born in Greenville County, South Carolina on January 22, 1947 to the late Roy Spurgeon Walker and Helen Campbell Walker. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kerry Carl Chastain; her children, Brian Chastain (Erin Cook) and Erin Jensen (John); siblings, Carroll Walker, George Walker (Joy), Jean Jenkins (Jimmy), Francis Wilkinson, and Teresa Stanley (Robert); and her only grandchild, her grandson Landen Chastain.

Judy was a woman who loved deeply and embraced life to its fullest. Her loved ones were the light of her life, and she dedicated her time to creating as many happy memories with them as possible. She always enjoyed a good movie night, watching the Carolina Panthers, or going to the beach with her family. A memorable trip and highlight for her was going to Ireland. After that trip she said Ireland was the only place she ever needed to go again.

Judy always took care of others before herself and greeted every friend and student with the same open heart and open arms that made her an inspiration to all that knew her. Her teaching career spanned over 40 years, 30 of which were spent teaching at Cramerton Christian Academy. She loved learning and developing new techniques to better the education of her students, and she treasured the opportunity to encourage young minds. Teaching was such a passion for her that being in the classroom was only second to being with her family.

Judy was an inspiration to all of those around her. Her family, friends, and former students will cherish their memories of her forever.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday June 21, 2025 at Cramerton Church, 426 Woodlawn ext., Cramerton, NC 28032 with Pastor Josh Baer officiating. A reception will follow after the service.
