Judy Cloninger Hoffman

Dallas - Judy Kay Cloninger Hoffman, 72 passed away on November 29, 2023.   

She was born in Gaston County on September 18, 1951, to the late Earl and Helen Thornburg Cloninger.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great aunt and uncle, Wilma and Rochelle Noles; her sister, Shirley Cloninger Edison and by her brothers-in-law, Stephen Green and Robert Heavner. 

Judy was loved by so many!  Over the last 10 years, she served countless families by caring for their loved ones.  Judy was an inspiration to so many with her endless love and contagious laugh.  Her pride and joy was her son, Kevin and grandsons, Bailey and Graham.  Judy was so proud and loved to brag on Kevin and the boys any opportunity she had.   She was a graduate of Dallas High School.  Judy retired from Bali/Sara Lee after many years of service.  Following retirement, she became a caregiver where she often felt she was the one receiving the blessings.   Judy was one-of-a-kind, who will be greatly missed by everyone who loved her!

Survivors include her son, Kevin Nichols; her grandsons, Bailey and Graham Nichols; Susan Nichols, mother of children; her brother, Roger Cloninger and wife Sherry; sisters, Janice Green and Patricia Heavner; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Remembrance will be held 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.  Private Interment will be held at a later date.
