Kathie Turber Brandon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, North Carolina peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends.. Born on January 21, 1964, in Thurston County, Washington, she graced this world with her loving and caring spirit for 62 years.
Kathie was a dedicated professional who devoted many years to her career at Sellers, Ayers, Dortch and Lyons in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her colleagues remember her not only for her commitment and work ethic but for the warmth and kindness she extended to everyone she met.
Known as the most loving and caring person, Kathie’s heart was always open to helping others. She found great joy in shopping, traveling on vacations, and, most importantly, spending treasured time with her family and friends. Among her proudest accomplishments were her two children, Thomas Brandon and Brenda Brandon, as well as her beloved grandson, Taylor Brandon.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of over 45 years, Len Brandon; her son, Thomas Brandon; her daughter, Brenda Brandon; her grandson, Taylor Brandon; her sisters, Kelly Taylor and Erin Yates, along with Erin’s husband, Ronnie; and many wonderful dear friends, Sue Thiemann, Mendy Kanupp, Pat Muhall, Julie Graham, and Marie Cabrera who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Kathie was predeceased by her parents, James L. and Nell P. Goiner Thurber, whose legacy lives on in her kindness and strength.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Richard Hogg officiating. The services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 531 Hardin Road, Dallas, North Carolina, 28034. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the releasing of the doves.
Pallbearers for the service will include Taylor Brandon, Matt Kanupp, Jeff Beaty, Justin Cloninger, Clinton Crocker, Eric Lamanna, all of whom held a special place in Kathie’s heart.
Kathie life was a testament to selfless love and devotion to those around her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her generous spirit, her joy in family and friendship, and the many ways she touched the lives of those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
