Katie Bradley Reed

Katie Bradley Reed, born on November 2, 1979, in Gaston County, North Carolina, peacefully passed away in Virginia Beach, Virginia on February 28, 2024.

Katie's life will be celebrated in a series of services to honor her memory. The visitation will be held on  Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation in Gastonia with Reverend Chris Norris officiating. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life service at the same location at 3:00 PM. Katie will be laid to rest at Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Corbett, Jim Corbett, Barry Hicks, Michael Manes, Jason Raines, and Ian Powers.

Katie was a graduate of Gaston Christian School and completed her Associated of Arts degree from Tidewater Community College in Virginia. Her proudest accomplishment was being a devoted mother to her wonderful sons. Katie also proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years, demonstrating her commitment to serving others.

A vibrant soul, Katie was known for her love of all laughter and playing cards. Above all else, she cherished the role of motherhood and had a passion for working with children. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of many.

In this time of mourning, Katie is survived by her beloved sons Aden Reed, Brice Hampton, and Samuel Hampton; her mother Cynthia Sawyer (Ron) and father Shane Bradley (Eileen); grandmother Audrey Hicks Rhyne; siblings Ross Bradley (Shannon), Chris Bradley, Shawn Bradley, Blake Sawyer (Liz), Tia Braley (Daniel), Lisa Costner (Barry); along with numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of dear friends. Katie's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
