Kay Lay Cash

Dallas – Kay Lay Cash, 83, passed away on September 17, 2022, at Woodlawn Haven Rest Home, Mt. Holly.

Kay was a native of Gaston County, NC, born on February 20, 1939 to the late Howard W. Lay and Rachel Putman Lay. In addition to her parents her is also preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Dawkins Lay, her husband, Jerry Dean Cash, her daughter. Renee Hallman, brothers, Joe Lay and Leon Lay, step siblings, Dorothy Parton, Betty Gunter, Jimmy Bryant.

She worked at American Efird for over 30 + years. She was a member of Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church most of her life. She was a devoted church member; often visiting the church shut-ins. She loved her church family and was often there every time the doors were open. Kay was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sherrie Cash; granddaughter, Marsha Moss, great granddaughter, Chloe Pogue; and a half brother, Gary Putman and many other family

Members.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday September 23, 2022 at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Heath Honeycutt officiating. The family will visit with family and friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home for her expenses.
