Gastonia – Reverend Kenneth Doyle Dagenhart, 69, went home to be with Jesus on June 6, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Kenneth was born in Guilford County, (Greensboro) NC on April 2, 1952 to the late William Doyle Dagenhart and Ida Mae Dagenhart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald and wife Anne Dagenhart; sister, Angela and husband Don McCaskill and granddaughter, Haley Lynn Ross.
He was an ordained minister of the Congregational Holiness Church and ministered the Gospel for many years. Kenneth was a veteran of the US Navy where he served his county in Vietnam. He was a retired computer engineer after many years.
Kenneth was a loving husband, father and grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memories includes his loving wife of 34 years, Linda Bowland Dagenhart; his children, Melissa Ross and husband Tim; Stephen Dagenhart, Timothy Dagenhart and Rebecca Head; seven grandchildren; Tyler Ross, Ethan Ross, Harlie Dagenhart, Chris Franklin, Ayden Dagenhart, Levi Dagenhart and Bailey LaMay; brother, Ronnie Dagenhart and wife Alice; three nieces, Kim Blake, April Caldwell, Pamela Dagenhart, and two nephews Craig Dagenhart and Brian Dagenhart.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 8th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and his Home Going Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Burnett and Rev. Y Z Isaacs officiating with military honors by the U.S. Navy and the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Dagenhart, Marcus LaMay, Tim Ross, Tyler Ross, Brian Dagenhart and Danny Helms.
Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June10th at Salisbury National Cemetery. 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144
