Kenny Lee Davis

Gastonia - Kenny Lee Davis, 71, passed away peacefully from this life on March 20, 2026, into the arms of Jesus our Savior after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 17, 1954, in Taylorsville , NC to Ida Davis and Thurston Starnes.

Kenny was a skilled automobile mechanic by trade with a true passion for repairing cars both mechanically and aesthetically. Beyond his work music was a lifelong love. Beginning in the 1970's he played in bands as an accomplished Bass guitarists and Lead Vocalists. During his musical journey he had the opportunity to open for the Pure Prairie League and Hank Willliams original Drifting Cowboys. Most recently he shared his talents with the Killin Time Band of the Carolinas.

A man of strong faith he was a devoted Husband, father, grandfather and friend, never meeting a stranger. He was deeply proud of his family and loved them dearly.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Jeannie, his daughters Gina Roy( Bobby). Jamie Davis, his stepchildren Darby Warren( Clive) Jessica Miller ( Gerald) Justin Gosnell( Kayli) his cherished grandchildren Madison, Lincoln, Landon, Cameron, Braxton, Matthew, Dylan, Kaylee, Kayden, and Olivia ,step sisters Brenda Melton( Tim) Libby Moffett( Walter) Wanda Greenberg (Bobby) Donna Gibbs.

Kenny is now reunited with his mother and father, step brother Don and beloved pet Gracie in heaven.

A memorial service to celebrate Kennys life will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
