Kim Buchanan

Kim Buchanan, a dedicated nurse with a career spanning over 40 years, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023, at her residence in Belmont, North Carolina. Born on February 5, 1957, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, she touched the lives of countless patients and leaves behind a legacy of compassion and care.

Kim began her nursing journey at CPCC, where she earned her degree in nursing. With a heart full of empathy and a passion for helping others, she joined Charlotte Memorial Hospital as a NICU Flight Nurse for Med Center Air. Throughout her career, Kim went above and beyond to ensure the well-being of her patients, treating them as if they were family. Her dedication and expertise were widely recognized by both colleagues and the families she served.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kim had a vibrant personality that endeared her to those around her. She found joy in singing with "The Rays of Sunshine" and various other groups during her spare time. On her days off, Kim cherished spending time with her closest friends and her beloved dog, Buddy.

With heavy hearts but fond memories, Kim is survived by her daughter Ashley Buchanan and granddaughter Harper Buchanan. She also leaves behind her brother Mikey Hubbell and his wife Maria. Kim was preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Myrtle Hubbell and sister Sherry Hubbell.

To honor Kim's life and commemorate her contributions to healthcare, the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation. Graveside Services will be private at a later date.

Kim unwavering dedication to nursing, her infectious smile, and her kind-hearted nature will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she shared with family and friends.
