Lamar W. Daye

Wilbur Lamar Daye, 85, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Gaston County, North Carolina, on October 21, 1939 to the late Lewis and Zenious Day. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Daye; and his 3 sisters.

Lamar enjoyed being outdoors fishing by the river. He liked to do yardwork and mowing the grass. He loved his dog and most of all he loved spending time with his family. Lamar leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn Breedlove Daye; children, Kimberly Gurley and Kevin Day; grandchildren, Samantha Dover and Matthew Gurley; and great-grandchildren, Owen Dover, Lillian Dover, and Asher Remmington Gurley.

Services will be held at a later date.
