Larry James Holbrook Jr.

Belmont – Larry James Holbrook, Jr., 53, passed away January 12, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on November 2, 1969 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to Frankie Phillips Queen and the late Larry James Holbrook, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 24 years Darlene Holbrook; brother, Randy Holbrook; and his uncle, Joe Carroll

Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family. He enjoyed collecting guns, Hot Wheel cars, and going fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. Larry was a man who was there for everyone and best friend to everybody. Most of all his two greatest achievements in life were marrying the love of his life, Darlene and raising his children. He leaves many happy memories that will be cherished by all of those that loved him.   

In addition to his mother, Frankie Queen, Larry is survived by his sons, Kermit Bramwell and Kenneth Bramwell; daughter, Shay Stilwell; brother, George Holbrook; grandchildren, Glenn, Harland, Karter, Mayleigh, Julianna, Estella, Gracyn, Eden, Kopelyn, and Ezra; niece, Frankie Lynn; aunt, JoAnn Carroll; and his Nana Phillips.  

A memorial service will be held Saturday January 21, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the VFW 3250 W. Frankin Blvd. in Gastonia.
