Larry James Welch

Gastonia – Larry James Welch, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024. 

Larry was born in Gaston County on December 31, 1944 and was the son of the late Dathie Elfus and Berbie Jackson Welch.  He is also preceded in death by his sister Sherry Eleanor Welch and brothers, Kenneth, Marshall, Jimmy and Ronnie Welch. He was a member of South Gastonia Pentecostal Free Will and retired from Wix Corp with over 42 dedicated years as a fork lift driver.   

Larry is survived by his two daughters, Diane McPherson and husband Paul, Joy Ewart and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Heather Beasley, Christopher McPherson, Whittney Outz and Adam Bowyer; great grandchildren, Addison, Grayson, Casen and soon to be Harrison (due in June) and nephew, Doug Welch.
