He was born in Gaston County, on August 29, 1940 to the late JC Wortman and Alene Crisp Wortman..
Larry enjoyed fishing, camping, football and racing. He retired from Pharr Yarns with many years of service.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 52 years, Jean Biggs Wortman; his children, Michael (Angie) Wortman, Jeff (Pam) Wortman and Debbie Jolly; grandchildren, Brittany (Brian) King, Kansas Oliver, Amber Oliver, Summer Wortman, Brad Johnson and Gene Johnson
A family gathering to celebrate his 80th birthday will be 1:00 p.m.-Saturday at his residence.
