Lee Barnes Beckham, 90, entered into heaven on May 2, 2025 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina, on May 25, 1934 to the late William and Pearl Beckham.
Lee retired from AMP in Lowell after many years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War where he received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
Lee was a member of Abshier-Flowers VFW Club and the Rock Hill American Legion. Lee Loved to bowl and was a member of the Older, but better Bowling League and the Tuesday Mixed Trio Bowling League.
Lee Leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 37 years, Anne B. Beckham; children, Bryan Beckham (Jenny), Renee Rishty (Terry); step-children, Charles Ricky Goodwin, Jr. (Teresa), Mark Randall Goodwin (Pamela), Eric Walter Goodwin (Karen), and Teresa Goodwin Neely (Gary); 11 grandchildren, Amy Adams (Chris), Amanda Lynn (Josh), Matthew Goodwin (Rachel), Ashley Carroll (Matthew), Caroline Beatty (Josh), Stewart Neely (Gabe), Betsey Theodossiou (Patrick), Joshua Goodwin, Samantha Scott (Kris), Melissa Hattrich, Adam Beckham; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am for visitation prior to a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia, North Carolina in the Singing Tower Garden, with Pastor Gene Bates officiating. Lee will receive military honors from the United States Airforce and the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be, Eric Goodwin, Josh Goodwin, Matt Goodwin, Matt Carroll, Mark Goodwin, and Christopher Goodwin.
Lee was Preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wilbur Beckham; son, Michael Lee Beckham; daughter-in-law, Tina Beckham; sister, Alice James; brother-in-law, Bobby James; great-granddaughter, Madisun Stoneking.
