Chapel Hill – Leon Little Rhyne, Jr., 80, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

He was born in Fayetteville (Cumberland County) on April 5, 1940 to the late Leon Little Rhyne, Sr. and Alieta Beam Rhyne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Rhyne; his lifelong companion Margrue Booker.

Leon was a proud 1968 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. He made Chapel Hill his residence following graduation; Leon loved his family and he was "The" family historian.

Left to cherish his memories is his brother, David Rhyne; sister-in-law, Marilyn Rhyne and nieces, Jennifer R. Revels, Lisa Cash and Kerry White; several great nieces and nephews; grandchildren of the heart Callie Martin and Tess Booker.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2nd at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, 210 Long Creek Church Road, Dallas NC with Reverend Joseph Lankford officiating with the releasing of the doves.

The family will speak to guests following the service.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, if you feel the need to stay home, a card or phone call to the family will be appreciated.
