Lewis Walker Hardin

Gastonia – Lewis Walker Hardin, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2021.
He was born October 31, 1934 in Cherokee County, NC and was the son of the late Gwynn Hardin and Carrie Jones Hardin. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Buchanan and a brother Ray Hardin.
Lewis was a charter member of Beech Avenue Baptist Church; this was his life. He loved the Lord with all his heart. Lewis was a humble man that loved everyone he met. Lewis always carried his Bible even in his wheel chair visiting friends along the halls of Brian Center.
Mr. Hardin is survived by his Brothers Gerald Hardin and James Charles Hardin; nieces and nephews, Steve Buchanan, Darlene Byam, Todd Hardin, Debbie Brown, Harrell Hardin, Darrell Hardin, Sherry Dunaway and Ryan Dunaway; numerous great nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 30th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jeff Cook officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 12:30 prior to the service
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Todd Hardin, James Hardin, Dean Dunaway and Taylor Dunaway.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beech Avenue Baptist Church, 1206 Ashton Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052
