Linda Ann J McCarn

Linda Ann Justice McCarn, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on November 13, 1947, in Hendersonville, NC.

Our precious mother went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 1:30 am. She transitioned peacefully while sleeping. She fought a good fight and finished her course. She is now pain-free and in the arms of her Lord.

She is survived by her adoring children, Brian McCarn, Clyde Royce McCarn, Jr., Rhonda Guffey and husband Dennis, and Teresa Bennett, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Daniel Guffey and wife Kelsey, Joshua Strader, and Brandon Bennett. Great-grandchildren, Graham Dnaiel Guffey, Jaiden Kenneth Bennett and Allison Brooke Bennett; Linda's sister, Frankie Tomberlin, will remember her fondly, alongside some nieces and nephews.

Linda loved to attend her son Brian’s musical performances at various venues. She was a night-owl and enjoyed late-night conversations with her daughters, Rhonda and Teresa. She attended church at New Beginnings Church of God and made sure her children, Rhonda, Little Royce, Teresa, Michelle, and Brian were all brought up in church. The highlight of Linda’s year would be to travel to her birthplace, Hendersonville, NC, for the Justice family reunion to be with her relatives.

She took pleasure in cooking for her family with love in every meal. She also liked grocery shopping for that next special recipe. Linda liked selling Avon and loved giving Avon gifts to her family for Christmas. She was a fan of old movies and classic TV shows, ‘Touched by an Angel’, was one of her favorites. Linda had a special bond with her cousin Francis and really enjoyed talking to her regularly. Linda and her best friend, Pat Avery, share many special memories.

Although Linda endured many obstacles and health issues, she was extraordinarily strong and courageous. Linda was devastated when she lost her baby son Frank Daniel at only four weeks old (55 years ago) and when she lost her daughter, Michelle, just a few years ago. Even though Linda has left this world, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she cared so deeply for.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Lloyd Justice and Lillian Kathleen Warlick Justice, husband Clyde Royce McCarn, and her beloved children, Frank Daniel McCarn and Michelle Denise Vanduzee, along with her siblings Brenda Craig, Emily Bennett, and Sandra Pillow.

Join us in honoring Linda’s life during the visitation and celebration of life on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, located at 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the celebration at 2:00 PM. with Chaplain Tim Barton officiating. Let us come together to share our stories, mourn our loss, and celebrate her life.

Linda’s favorite color is blue. In honoring her, the family will be wearing blue. Please feel free to join us if you would like to wear blue for her celebration of life.

Linda will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her.
