Linda Smith Green

Linda Smith Green, beloved day care provider and cherished member of her community, left this world suddenly on August 31, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. Born on July 23, 1952, in Gaston County, NC, she spent her life nurturing the hearts of the young and embracing the love of her family.

As a lifelong member of Bethesda Methodist Church, Linda dedicated herself not only to her spirituality but also to serving others, especially children. For many years, she devoted her days to being a day care provider, intertwining her career with her passion for caring for children. Her warm heart and nurturing spirit made her a beloved figure among the families she touched. Her proudest accomplishments included raising her daughter and watching her grandchildren grow, finding joy in every moment spent with them.

Linda's personality shone brightly in everything she did. She was known for her love of children, always finding ways to uplift their spirits and make their lives a little brighter. There was nothing she cherished more than her family and the memories they created together, whether it was cooking special meals or coloring alongside her grandchildren. Her hobbies reflected her kind and gentle nature, and her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and creativity.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, James Larry Green; her loving daughter, Elizabeth Michelle Green; and her beloved grandchildren, Jaymison, Janessa, Jocilyn, and Jubilee. Also mourning her loss are her goddaughter, Brandi Fox (James), along with her children, Joseph and Carter; her sisters, Nancy Smith and Susan Hudgins; and many nieces and nephews whose lives she enriched with her love.

Linda is predeceased by her parents, James and Madaline Baucom Smith, and her brother, Gary Smith. Their memories will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to join in remembering Linda's extraordinary life on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Bethesda Methodist Church in Gastonia, NC. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM. With Reverend Tripp Hord officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery beside of Bojangles, on South New Hope Rd. Here, we will gather to honor the beautiful legacy of a woman who loved deeply, lived fully, and embraced every moment with grace and kindness.
