Gastonia – Linda Lee Mauney Mooneyhan, 80, passed away suddenly on December 19, 2021.
She was born in Gaston County on June 6, 1941, to the late James Arthur Mauney and Blonzeen Esther Peters Mauney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Buddy Mooneyhan, her daughter Kimberly Wright, daughter-in-law, Tia Mooneyhan, and her sister, Diane Gilleland.
Linda was a member of Pisgah ARP Church. Linda enjoyed watching holiday Hallmark Movies, "old" I Love Lucy reruns, and her trips to the beach. She loved spending time being a MaMa and spoiling her grandchildren any opportunity she could! She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed! Linda retired from Freightliner with over 22 faithful years of service.
Survivors include loving sons, Jamie (Rick Bland) Mooneyhan; Everette (Julie) Mooneyhan, Chris Mooneyhan, her wonderful grandchildren, Amy Lee Hanks, John Wright, Garrett (Ester) Mooneyhan, Victoria (Kyle) Jones, Alex (Leah Owens) Mooneyhan, Adam Mooneyhan; great-grandchildren, Rowan H. Jones, Piper Mooneyhan, and Indigo Jones; sister, Carol Boone, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved fur baby Lillie.
Visitation for family and friends will be 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 23rd at Pisgah ARP Church, 3600 Linwood Road, Gastonia, NC 28052. Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Rick Lewis officiating. The family respectfully requests that mask be worn at all times if you are attending the visitation and service.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, John Wright, Garrett Mooneyhan, Alex Mooneyhan, Adam Mooneyhan
