Linda Cordelia Rector

Linda Cordelia Rector, 73, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on August 6, 1950 to the late Clayborn Leroy, Sr. and Lillie Mae Bloomer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Clayborn Bloomer, Jr.; sister, Patsy Huggins; niece, Melissa Huggins; nephew, Graham Austin Huggins, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Graham Austin Huggins, Sr.

Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed medical mysteries. In her free time, she liked to sit on her front porch watching traffic go by and listening to stories about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Above all else, she loved her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Nuhrah (Chip) and Shelly Lofton (David); grandchildren, Moriah Nuhrah and Brittany Lofton (Nick); great-grandchildren, Gianna Rae Burgan and Graylyn Wren Burgan; and her special friends, Linda and Boyce Moose.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Linda’s life will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cancer Services of Gaston County.
