Linda Storie Scoggins, a beloved wife, caring mother, sister and friend, passed away on March 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the Robin Johnson House. She was born on November 25, 1966, in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Shelby Chambers Thompson.
Linda dedicated her working years to Industrial Glass Tech., where she poured her heart and soul into her career. Beyond her professional life, Linda was known for her vibrant personality and kind spirit. She was a cherished member of the Soul Harbor family, leaving a positive impact wherever she went.
One of Linda's greatest joys in life was spending time at the beach, with her trips to Myrtle Beach holding a special place in her heart. She was also passionate about shopping for others, cooking for her family, and creating precious memories with her husband and boys. Her proudest accomplishments revolved around her beautiful family, especially her two adoring grandchildren, Sophia and Tyberius.
Linda will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jerry Scoggins; sons Justin Dewayne Scoggins and Adam Durand Scoggins; grandchildren, Sophia and Tyberius; and sisters Betty Smith, Cindy Costner (Jason), Marcella Hovis (Eddie), brothers, Danny and Eugene Storie as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.; She's proceeded in death by her mother, Shelby Chambers Thompson; mother-in-law Betty Childers; niece, Ashley Erin Scoggins.
A visitation to honor Linda's life will be held on Friday, March 15 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation in Gastonia. A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 16, 11:00 a.m. at Soul's Harbor Tabernacle with Pastor James Chambers officiating; followed by burial at Bessemer City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bentley Mitchem, Damon Brown, Dustin Brown, Travis Scoggins, Joe Messer and Jason Costner.
