Gastonia – Lori Richelle Myers, 49, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 6, 2021 due to an automobile accident in Grassy Creek, North Carolina.
She was returning from a 3 day canoeing trip with Travis and friends.
She was born in Gaston County on November 9, 1971.
Lori was a journalist and wonderful writer she enjoyed writing and traveling. Lori's book is due to be published in December. She loved the outdoors, often canoeing, hiking and camping. She was an outdoor adventurist . She was a loving, kind and beautiful daughter, mother, sister and friend to many.
Survivors include her greatest accomplishment was her son, Tyler Watts; her parents, Renee and Bo Mackey; her brother, Britt and wife Missy Myers; nephews, Britt Myers and Carson Myers; her boyfriend, Travis McNeil; her Uncle Keith Bumgardner and wife Monica; numerous cousins; and her beloved fur baby, Emmy.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 17th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home
A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel
Interment will follow at Evergreen "A Quiet Place"
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital. www.stjude.org
