Marion Turner Sanders

Marion Turner Sanders, 81, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Gaston County, North Carolina, on June 17, 1944 to the late Ernest and Grace Turner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Eugene “Gene” Sanders; son, Jerry Sanders; sister, Patricia Griffin; Granddaughter, Brandi Knutsen; and her great-grandson, Nathan Sanders.

Marion was an amazing and loving woman who always provided and took care of her family. She was always there for her family and friends when they needed her and they were there for her. She loved her grand, and great-grandkids very much and always let them and everyone else know it. They were the light of her life. All of the time and memories shared with Marion by her family and friends will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her daughters; Robin Garmon (Jerry) and Donna Sanders; grandchildren, Robbie Sanders (Bree), Steven Sanders, Sean Sanders; and her great-grandchildren, Nico Knutsen, Grayson Knutsen, Colby Sanders, Madison Sanders, Corey Sanders, Chase Sanders, Bentlee Sanders, Cole Sanders, Hannah Sanders, and Tyler Sanders.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Justin Grigg officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia.
