Mark Adley Brendle

Belmont - Mark Adley Brendle, a beloved father, husband, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 7, 2023. Born in Gaston County, North Carolina on May 11, 1956, Mark had a remarkable and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of countless people.

Mark's journey through life was marked by versatility and dedication. Throughout his career, he embraced various trades. He worked tirelessly in construction, leaving an indelible mark on the structures he helped build. Later on, he ventured into the world of transportation as both a bus driver and limo driver. His friendly demeanor and warm smile made every ride a pleasant experience for those fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

Described as a fun-loving and easy-going individual, Mark had an unwavering love for the Lord and his cherished wife Karen. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. Together they navigated through life's ups and downs, offering unwavering support and companionship to one another.

Mark's memories will forever reside within the hearts of his children and grandchildren. His proudest accomplishments in life were his four children: Solomon Brendle and wife Abbey, Anna Brendle, Brittany Brendle, and Bailey Brendle. He cherished their presence dearly and nurtured their dreams with boundless love and care. His grandchildren, Arterious Leach and Malachi Messer, brought immeasurable joy into his life. Also left to cherish his memory is his best friend and roommate, Jock Smith and his sister, Janice Walton.

From an early age, Mark pursued education at South Point High School where he laid the foundation for future success. Although his academic pursuits may have taken different paths throughout his career journey, he understood the importance of knowledge as a lifelong pursuit.

Mark had a vibrant personality that instantly connected him with others. He possessed an innate ability to make friends wherever he went; truly exemplifying the saying 'he never met a stranger.' His loud voice resonated with authenticity while engaging those around him. Mark's passion for singing and his rich baritone voice brought joy to many hearts, whether it was in the choir or teaching Sunday school at West Cramerton Baptist Church.

Beyond work and hobbies, Mark found solace in simple pleasures. He loved casting his fishing line into peaceful waters, finding tranquility and a sense of freedom amidst nature's beauty. It was during these moments that he felt connected to something greater than himself.

Today we mourn Mark's passing but also celebrate the remarkable life he led. We remember his infectious laughter, his sincere kindness, and his unwavering love for family and friends. He leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, as he was more than just a father; he was a best friend, confidant, and mentor.

Surrounded by the love of his children and grandchildren, Mark is now reunited with his devoted wife, Karen, and his parents, Solomon and Evelyn Rector Brendle. Although they may no longer be physically present, their spirits will forever guide him from above. Furthermore, we cannot forget to mention Mark's beloved wife Karen McSorley Brendle, who shared 35 incredible years of marriage with him until her passing.

Mark's  legacy lives on through the memories shared by those who knew him best.
