Gastonia – Marvin "Pops" Alexander Holder, Sr., 64, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Stecoah Valley, North Carolina; he was born on September 20, 1957 to the late G.L. Holder and Pauline Hyde Holder.
Marvin owned and operated Show Time Video. He loved attending his church, Covenant Baptist Church. Marvin enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved the mountains and taking trips to Gatlinburg, TN. He was a family man and loved his grandchildren. He loved being a "Paw Paw" most of all.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 45 years, Debra Herron Holder; his sons, Marvin A Holder, Jr., Wesley Holder and wife Kristy, Tim Holder and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Nikee, Shyanne, Phoebe, Lily, Madison and Bryson.
A Celebration of Life service will be 12:00 Noon, Thursday, September 30th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nick Clanton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Armstrong Cemetery with the releasing of the doves. Pallbearers will be Wesley Holder, Timothy Holder, Josh Teague, Nathan Clubb, Christopher Davenport and Shane Waldroup.
