Maurice Ashby Cooper, Jr., born on March 4, 1953, in Fauquier, Virginia, passed away suddenly on April 1, 2026, at his residence. He was a man whose life was marked by dedication and service, notably demonstrated by his proud service in the U.S. Army. Maurice was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Maurice Ashby Cooper, Sr., and Lillie Dale Cooper. Their legacy of love and strength undoubtedly shaped the man he became. Surviving are his children, Maurice Taylor (Jennifer) and Nicole Cooper. Two grandchildren, Bailey and Austin Taylor.

A graveside service to honor Maurice's life will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery, located at 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC 28144. It is fitting that his final resting place be among those who served the nation, reflecting the pride he took in his military service.
