Maxine Campbell Bowman

Gastonia – Lydia “Maxine” Campbell Bowman, 74 entered into heaven on December 14, 2022. She passed peacefully with her family by her side.

Maxine was born August 10, 1948 to the late Frank and Belle Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jobill Bowman and sister, Linda Grey.

She was a retired secretary with Mecklenburg Paint.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, MawMaw, sister, and friend. She enjoyed camping and bowling. Most of all she enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, baking cookies and spending time together at Christmas (her favorite time of the year).

She is survived by her children, Joseph Bowman and wife Roberta, Lisa Prather and husband, Jamie; her grandchildren whom she adored Alex and Alexis Bowman; sisters, Vivian Flannigan and husband Jerry, Angie Hawkins and husband, Charlie; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday December 17th, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to her Celebration of Life service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Criswell officiating.
