Melanie West Bradbury

Melanie West Bradbury, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on October 19, 1959, in Gaston County, NC, Melanie was a shining light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

As a co-owner and secretary of Bradbury Roofing, Melanie dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her work. Yet, her proudest accomplishments were not found in career milestones but in the love and support she gave to her children, C.J. Pridgen (Cody) and Tommy Bradbury (April), as well as her grandchildren, Harrison Pridgen, Michael Bradbury, and Bailey Bradbury. Melanie's unwavering devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life.

A devoted wife, Melanie shared 45 wonderful years with her husband, Tom Bradbury. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, adventure, and the warmth of togetherness. Family camping trips were a cherished tradition, where memories were made under starry skies and around crackling campfires. These moments were a testament to her love for the outdoors, cooking, and sharing her favorite recipes with friends and family via Facebook, bringing everyone closer through her culinary creations.

Melanie's personality shone brightly; she was known for her caring spirit, her love for cooking, and her knack for keeping in touch with those she loved through social media. She had a unique ability to foster connections, ensuring that no one felt neglected or forgotten. Her playful spirit and infectious smile will be deeply missed by her many wonderful friends and loved ones.

Melanie was predeceased by her parents, William L. West, Jr. and Gail Jeanette Nichols West, who undoubtedly shaped the loving person she became. Their legacy of love continues through her family and the lives she touched throughout her journey.

A visitation will be held in her honor on July 28, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation in Gastonia, NC. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful life of Melanie Bradbury – a remarkable woman who will be remembered for her dedication, love, and the strong bonds she built within her family. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved her.
