Michael Brent Hoyle, 70, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and family at his bedside.

Born and raised in Dallas, North Carolina, Brent had a deep and lasting love for his hometown, his community, and the people who filled it. From his early days working at the Kwik Stop to later becoming a local business owner and opening the first tavern in Dallas, Brent’s life was woven into the community he called home. He knew people. He remembered people. And most importantly, he genuinely cared about the lives happening around him.

Photography was one of Brent’s many passions. Behind his camera, he had a remarkable ability to capture more than just a photograph. He captured people as they truly were—their personalities, their relationships, their celebrations, their laughter, and the small moments that might otherwise have been forgotten. Through his photographs, he preserved memories that will continue to live on long after he is gone.

Throughout his life, Brent touched countless lives in meaningful ways. He had a remarkable ability to see the good in people and encouraged those around him to be the best versions of themselves. He openly shared his love for God, his faith, and his hope for a better future for everyone. Brent truly was one of a kind. There will never be another quite like him, and the people who had the privilege of knowing him will carry his memory with them always.

Brent leaves behind his beloved wife, Cyndi; his daughter, Heather Thomas, and son-in-law, Zac Thomas; his daughter, Jade Hoyle, and daughter-in-law, Nicole Hoyle; and his son, Ryan Hoyle. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Bennett Hoyle, Mason Thomas, Dakota Hoyle, and Wyatt Thomas, and his great-granddaughter, Delilah, who brought an especially precious kind of love and joy into his life.

He is also survived by his sister, Lisa Gorla, and brother-in-law, Torrey Gorla; his nephews, Elijah and Antonio Gorla; his dear cousin, Tony McGinnis; and many lifelong friends who were an important part of his life and his story.

Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Jo Hoyle.

His life was filled with people, memories, laughter, faith, love, and a deep connection to the community he called home. While his passing leaves an unimaginable emptiness for those who loved him, the memories he created and the lives he touched will continue to tell his story. He was loved. He was known. He mattered. And he will never be forgotten.
