Michael Fredrick Landers, 76, passed away on February 7, 2026 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was born in Buncombe County on July 25, 1949 to the late J. D. Reece and Janice Ellis.

Michael had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh. He had a deep passion and knowledge of politics and stood strongly against social injustices, inequality, and Zionism. Micheal was always eager to educate someone when they wanted to learn. He was a true handyman and could fix anything and was a fountain of knowledge on how everything worked.

Micheal proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam war and was stationed in Korea where he worked on the Integrated Wideband Communications System (IWCS). Even during war he joked around, made life enjoyable, had a good time with his platoon. He will be remembered for his strong morals hand having never met a stranger.

He is survived by his children, Michael Landers II, Leslie Landers, and Amy Lee; siblings, Phil Landers and Anner Gudger (Harrison); grandchildren, Pippa Raine Landers, Nate Landers, Michael Lee, and Anna Lee; and niece, Kim Gudger.

Services will be announced at a later date.
