Michael "Mike" Lee Lunsford

On May 31, 2024, Michael Lee Lunsford, who passed away at his residence in Florence, South Carolina. He was born on December 17, 1953, in Gaston County, North Carolina.

Michael dedicated over 30 years of his life to Freightliner before retiring, showing unwavering commitment and diligence in his career. His work ethic and passion left a lasting impact on all those around him. He was a 

Member of the Palmetto Church of God. He enjoyed wood working and would often make nice furniture for friends. He was a clean nut when it came to his cars. Mike was a loving  father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

 Michael is survived by his loving fiancée, Phyllis Owens, and his children Michael Jennings Lunsford and Sabrina Lunsford Polk (Kevin). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Abbigal Lunsford, Isaac Lunsford, Cameron Seagrave, Emilee Polk, and a great grandchild, Amira Seagraves. Mike is also survived by his brothers, Grady and William "Mutt" Lunsford; sisters, Claudia Bolynn, and Teresa Lunsford.
 
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Florence Morgan Lunsford, as well as his brother, David Laws, sister, Odessa Crowe and the mother of his children, Brenda Ferguson Lunsford.

A service to celebrate Michael's life will be held at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation in Gastonia on June 6, 2024. The visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Westview Gardens Cemetery in Bessemer City.

 Michael's kindness, generosity, and dedication will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace while his memory lives on eternally in the hearts of those who loved him.
