Gastonia – Michael Gordon Smith, 72, passed away May 19, 2022, at Courtland Terrace surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Gaston County on July 2, 1949 to the late Howard and Helen Smith.
Michael was an avid sportsman that not only enjoyed watching sports but also going hunting and fishing. He spent his career as an OSHA Inspector. He and Diane are proud members of Sandy Plains Baptist Church.
Left to cherish Michael's memories is his loving wife of 50 years, Diane Smith; sons, Phillip, Bradley, and Nicholas; and his sisters, Lynn, Cindy, Susan, and Becky.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Sandy Plains Baptist Church and ask that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the National Wild Turkey Foundation, PO Box 530, Edgefield SC, 29824.
