Michael Allen Withers

Michael Allen Withers, 64, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, South Carolina, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 11, 1962.

Michael was an avid sports fan, especially of the Steelers and Panthers. He enjoyed watching college football, coaching kids’ sports, and playing poker on Thursday nights. He also enjoyed ocean fishing, working in the yard, and tending to his garden, which was, in his own words, “his favorite thing he loved next to his family.” Michael also loved old cars and had a 1968 GMC truck. He collected antique furniture and paintings and was a skilled craftsman who built lots of furniture for others. Michael was a very giving person who was always willing to help. Above all else, he loved his family, especially caring for his beloved parents.

In addition to his parents, Ralph and Carol Withers, he is survived by his daughter, Abbey Covington (Tim); grandchildren, Connor, Carson, Vera, Indiana, and Henry; and his siblings, Sue Withers, Mark Withers (Bobbie), and Shelley Wiggins (Lee).

The family will receive friends at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel, with Mr. Christopher Dixon officiating.
