York – Mona Rae Smith Evans, 69, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022, at Piedmont Medical Center in York, SC, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Pensacola Florida to the late Louis C. Smith, Sr. & Hazel Wellman Smith on June 20, 1952. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers Louis Smith, Jr. and Robert Smith.
She was a loving kind and beautiful mother, grandmother sister and friend to many. Mona Rae was a dedicated church member who was a reliable volunteer to the church community and children's church teacher. Above all she loved spending time with her family and making memories with her grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, Edward Evans, Jr., those left to cherish her memories are her sons; Edward Evans, III (Brenda) and David Evans; daughters, Alicia Rae Shealy (William) and Rachel Talley; brother, John Smith; sister, Cheryl Ann Smith; and her beloved grandchildren, Lauren Alexis Talley, Abigail Reagan Talley, Emma Hollyn Talley, Nathan Evan Talley, Willian Shealy, Kayla Shealy, and Jeremy Shealy.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2022 at Rose Hill Cemetery, 229 East Liberty Street, York, SC 29745.
