Nadine Gaddis Hawkins

GASTONIA – Nadine Gaddis Hawkins, 88, passed away August 14, 2026 at her residence.

She was a native of Gaston County, born Dec. 17, 1937, to the late Willard and Elizabeth Hoke Gaddis. Nadine loved to garden, read and travel with family.

She is survived by son Jeffrey Dale Hawkins (Darlene), daughter Susan Hawkins Prescott (Patrick), grandchildren Alex Prescott (Madison) and Alan Prescott, step-granddaughter Cerissa Roberts, great grandchildren Rowan and Daisy Prescott, brother Wayne Gaddis and sister Ann Drum. She was preceded in death by husband of 54 years, John Alexander Hawkins, her parents and 1 brother, 2 sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Cranford officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery "A Quiet" Place in Belmont.
