Nancy Hinkle Hoffman, born April 24, 1939, peacefully passed away on June 16, 2026, at Morningside Assisted Living. She was surrounded by her loving children in the final moments of a life well-lived. Nancy leaves behind a treasured legacy of devotion to her family and community, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Nancy worked for many years at Hanes-Bali, where she was known for her dedication and steadfast work ethic. A member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church for many years, she found joy and strength in her spiritual community. Additionally, Nancy served in the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and the Marine Corps Women's Auxiliary, embodying commitment and service throughout her life. She was also an active member of the Senior Citizens group, engaging with others through those years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Above all, Nancy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. Her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, and she treasured spending time with her beloved family. Her warm spirit and steadfast support were a cornerstone to those closest to her.

Nancy is lovingly remembered by her children, Rodney Hoffman and his wife Darla, Darlene Jarvis, and Paula Medlin. She is also survived by her brothers, Edward Hinkle and his wife Jackie, Bobby Hinkle and his wife Debbie; her sisters, Margaret Capps, Ella Mae Hicks, and Olene Lunsford and her husband Larry. Nancy was blessed with wonderful grandchildren, Justin Helms (Maggie), Ryan Helms (Jaclyn), Jeremy Helms (Jenny), Zack Jarvis (Alayna), Allison Jarvis (Marina DelGreco), Rebecca Lautner (Shawn), Kacy Agee (Matt), Clint Medlin (Alyssa) and her great grandchildren, Zeke, Hattie, Kyler, Camden, Jack, Eloise, Madeline, Emma Grace, Noah, Price, Elizabeth, Thomas, Kate, Hannah and Jack who brought her immense joy and pride.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian John Hinkle and Margaret Edna Barnes Hinkle, and her husband of 53 wonderful years, Lloyd Burwell Hoffman (who passed in June 14, 2013) her sons-in-law, Ray Jarvis and Keith Medlin, brothers-in-law, Wade Capps, and Joe Hicks.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, located at 5323 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28056. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Matt Agee officiating, where friends and family will gather to honor Nancy’s memory and legacy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Nancy Hinkle Hoffman’s life was marked by service, love, and dedication. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
