Gastonia - Nancy Gragg Laver, a beloved tax accountant and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023. She was born on August 6, 1935, in Gaston County, North Carolina to Ernest and Myrtle Shaver Gragg.

Nancy devoted her entire career to the field of accounting, working primarily in the family businesses Centralized Accounting and Accutrol Accounting. With her sharp mind for numbers and meticulous attention to detail, she became a respected figure in the industry. Nancy's dedication to her work was unwavering, and she brought professionalism and integrity to every task she undertook.

However, Nancy's true passion in life was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones and found immense joy in their presence. Her warm and caring nature made her the heart of the family, creating an atmosphere filled with love and laughter.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Nancy took pride in being a loving daughter to Ernest Gragg. She admired her father for his remarkable service to the community as a police officer. His dedication motivated Nancy throughout her life, instilling within her a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.

Outside of work and family life, Nancy found pleasure in various hobbies and interests. She had a knack for art and would often immerse herself in creative endeavors. Shopping also brought her joy as she delighted in discovering unique treasures that captured her imagination.

Nancy Laver passed away surrounded by her beloved family. This peaceful departure served as a testimony to the close bond they shared throughout her lifetime. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her best.

She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Craig Cloninger and Harry Laver. Although deeply saddened by their loss, Nancy's surviving family and friends find solace in the memories they hold dear.

Left to honor her legacy are her son, Craig A. Clonninger and wife Jennifer; stepchildren, Janet Laver, Karen and Gary Rogers, Harry and Tara Laver, and Toni Noblett; grandchildren, Brett, Damon, Drake, Cassidy, Casey, Ava Marie, Scenzie, Christina, April, Kurt, Dariel and Noah; as well as her great-grandchild Callum.

Nancy will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for the love and devotion she shared with her family. Her kind heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace as we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.

 

 Memorial service will be 12:30 p.m., Sunday, October 15th at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, South New Hope Road, Gastonia
