Gastonia – Waunetta "Netta" Conley Scherich, 88, passed away on September 3, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Wood County, West Virginia on February 24, 1933 to the late Mable and Harley Conley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Paterson and by her first husband, Edward Scherich; and by her siblings, Ruby Fearington, Agnes Taylor Conley, Ira Conley, Melvin Conley and Eugene Conley.
Netta was an active member of First Baptist Church in Charlotte. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a real estate broker and enjoyed working for many years.
Survivors include the love of her life, John Billy "Bill" Jackson, Jr.; her siblings, Darlene Smith of Clover, SC; Robert Conley of West Virginia and Ralph Conley of Maryland; Grandsons, Donald and Brian Paterson; and 1 great grandson; her step son, John Michael Jackson of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; step daughter, Shannon Jackson Howell and husband Randy and their children, Cole and Caleb Howell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 9th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mike Cummins officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery Charlotte, 4426 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205.
