Patricia Matkins Killian

Patricia Matkins Killian, 90, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026 at her residence in Belmont, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on April 23, 1936 to the late Allen and Myrtle Matkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, James Boyd Killian, Sr.

Patricia was a graduate of Ashley High School and went on to work in banking where she retired as Vice President of First American Savings and Loan. She was an avid reader and loved the bible. Patricia was a devout member of Evangel Assembly of God where she taught bible classes and sang in the choir. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandsons. Everyone who knew and loved her will cherish her memory.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Killian; and adopted daughter, Nikki Lauber; son, James Boyd Killian, Jr. and wife, Gay; and her grandchildren, Joshua Killian and David Killian and wife, Angel.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Evangel Assembly of God, 625 Neal Hawkins Road, Gastonia, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 pm in the church with Reverend Rufus Johnson Officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
